PCJH Mathathon Thanks so much for all of your help towards out St. Jude Mathathon. The community including parents, local businesses, and especially students have really come together for a great cause! In our second highest total for the five years, we raised $6,205.75, which brings our 5 year total to $27,005.40. That total is truly amazing in a small community, and it shows a great amount of compassion and generosity in our local area. We were in the top 100 fundraisers in the country last year, and I'm sure we will be close again this year. If you know anyone who donated, please be sure to thank them for us! I hope the students learned the awesome power of teamwork and giving. I hope they carry that spirit with them forever. The more we help each other, especially when we are in need, the better the world becomes in my opinion. As I tell the students, even raising $1 helps, because if everyone did that it would add up to a lot of money, so no matter what they raised, if they did their best, they contributed to a great cause! I can't thank you enough for helping with this great cause, especially during a busy and expensive holiday season. The students should feel very proud of themselves, and I know the patients appreciate it. They also said thank you for the cards that students made! Have a happy holidays! Thanks, Kris Sienza

Hello all, the students will be doing a kindness challenge through our kindness club that gives them a kind act to complete for 21 days. They can do any of them throughout, and the challenge they complete doesn't have to be exact. Example: If the challenge Monday is to gift a book to someone, they could gift a DVD on Tuesday and it still counts as long as they post on the Google Classroom page about it before the end of the 21 days. Each completed task, and each of the dress up days we do during the week of October 29 (Flyer coming the week before) they participate in gives them an entry to a drawing for prizes including gift cards we will do at the end. Though they are doing the challenge on their Classroom page and having it announced each day at school, if you would like to participate you can sign up here and it will send you the same challenges they are doing! Let me know if you need any help! Here is the link: www.kindspring.org/challenge/join/1692 Thanks, Mr. Sienza

Hello PCJH community, As you know the coming season is a time for great joy and kindness around the world. We want to do our part as students and staff at PCJH to help spread the generosity and give back to those that are less fortunate. As a part of Mr. Sienza, Mrs. Zielinski, and Mrs. Ellena’s math classes, junior high students will be doing math problems to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. St. Jude’s never gives a bill to parents whose children are suffering, so all of their money is donated. Our goal is for each student is to raise $25-$50, and reach our overall goal of $4000 total. Any small part you can do to help would be great. We will be taking donations on our St. Jude’s student web pages starting Thursday, November 30 and it will run through Monday, December 18. Please ask one of the math teachers or students at the junior high and we will tell you what to do! Thank you for your time and your generosity.
