Census Day is April 1, 2010. This will be census number 23 for the United States. Every 10 years, the United States Government counts the number of people living in the United States.
Every family needs to complete the Census as stated in the United States Constitution. The numbers given on the Census help to determine the number of representatives the state of Illinois receives in the U.S. Congress, and helps the government decide who gets money for things like road improvements, hospitals, transportation, and schools.
The Census questionnaire is short, takes 10 minutes to complete, and is 100% confidential. Watch your mailbox in March and remember to return your questionnaire.
