Board President Judy Hopkins called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting continued with the Pledge of Allegiance. PLEDGE
The following members were present to answer roll call: Mrs. Entwistle, Mrs. Hopkins, Mr. Kettman, Mrs. Nauman, Mrs. Popurella, Mrs. Smoode, and Mrs. Stoddard. ROLL CALL
Mrs. Dudek, Junior High Science Teacher demonstrated video steaming and the smart board that she uses in her classroom. DELEGATIONS
Mrs. Stoddard moved and Mrs. Smoode seconded the motion to approve the Consent Agenda - Regular session and Executive session minutes of December 21, 2009, Financial Reports for the month of December, Treasurer’s Report for month of December, and bills for month of January. On roll call the members voted as follows: Mrs. Stoddard, aye; Mrs. Entwistle, aye; Mrs. Hopkins, aye; Mr. Kettman, aye; Mrs. Nauman, aye; Mrs. Popurella, aye; and Mrs. Smoode, aye. Motion carried. CONSENT AGENDA
Principals’ reports are included in the board book. PRINCIPALS’ REPORTS
Primary Building Update – punch list is almost complete. The Building and Grounds Committee will meet to discuss summer maintenance plans. The mid-year Financial Report was highlighted. The District has received 69% of Budgeted Revenue and spent 51% of Budgeted Expenditures. SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
There were no committee reports BOARD COMMITTEE REPORTS
The Board reviewed their retreat minutes with the District Administration. Mr. Carlson reported the Junior High music program has improved this year with more students enrolled in band and chorus. OLD BUSINESS
Chemical Safety Act Procedure was discussed.
At 7:25 p.m. Mrs. Entwistle moved and Mr. Kettman seconded the motion to move to executive session for the purpose of appointment, employment, compensation, performance, and/or dismissal of specific employees of the school district and collective bargaining negotiations. On roll call the members voted as follows: Mrs. Entwistle, aye; Mrs. Hopkins, aye; Mr. Kettman, aye; Mrs. Nauman, aye Mrs. Popurella, aye; Mrs. Smoode, aye; and Mrs. Stoddard, aye. Motion carried. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mrs. Popurella moved and Mr. Kettman seconded the motion to return to open session. On roll call the members voted as follows: Mrs. Popurella, aye; Mrs. Smoode, aye; Mrs. Stoddard, aye; Mrs. Entwistle, aye; Mrs. Hopkins, aye; Mr. Kettman, aye; and Mrs. Nauman, aye. Motion carried.
Mr. Kettman moved and Mrs. Nauman seconded the motion to transfer Debbie Thompson to JH Media Aide. On roll call the members voted as follows: Mr. Kettman, aye; Mrs. Nauman, aye; Mrs. Popurella, aye; Mrs. Smoode, aye; Mrs. Stoddard, aye; Mrs. Entwistle, aye; and Mrs. Hopkins, aye. Motion carried. PERSONNEL
Mrs. Stoddard moved and Mrs. Popurella seconded the motion to hire Jeanne Crotteau as HS Math Coach. On roll call the members voted as follows: Mrs. Stoddard, aye; Mrs. Entwistle, aye; Mrs. Hopkins, aye; Mr. Kettman, aye; Mrs. Nauman, aye; Mrs. Popurella, aye; and Mrs. Smoode, aye. Motion carried.
At 10:15 p.m. Mrs. Smoode moved and Mr. Kettman seconded the motion to adjourn. All ayes, motion carried. ADJOURN
