Kindergarten students at P.C. Primary have been celebrating the Olympics. In the classrooms, they have been working on Olympic flags, graphs, and theme books. The students even decorated their classrooms with Olympic windsocks!
Each child chose a country to represent in the Olympics. The classes then created flags of the chosen countries. The countries chosen were: U.S.A., Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, and Italy.
On Olympic Friday (Friday, February 19th), the children assembled in the gymnasium with their respective countries’ flags. An “opening ceremony” began the festivities. The children marched with the other students to the Olympic march. They concluded the ceremony with singing, “The More We Get Together.”
Then, with the help of Mrs. Taylor, PE teacher, and the kindergarten teachers and classroom assistants, the students competed in 5 Olympic events: the luge, slalom skiing, figure skating, ski jumping, and hockey. All participants received “gold” medals!!
The kindergarten students, teachers, and staff enjoyed Olympic cookies complete with the five Olympic rings for a final treat event.
Everyone at P.C. Primary would like to thank Mrs. Wujek and Mrs. Grant for helping with the events, taking pictures, and serving refreshments.
Kindergarten is truly an Olympic Event!!
