PCJH Makes Presence Known at Track Sectionals

The Putnam County Junior High Track team headed to the IESA Sectional this past Saturday. The meet was hosted by Ladd and was held at Hall High School. The Pumas made their presence known by taking home some serious hardware and numerous ribbons. The 8th grade boys and 7th grade girls won their divisions respectively while the8th grade girls finished second. All three of these squads received a large plaque in honor of their achievement. 

The IESA State Track Finals are held at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria. The events start this Friday, May 15th at 12:00 and the events will continue to Saturday, May 16th starting at 9:00 AM. To access a time schedule for the various events you can log onto www.iesa.org and click under track to see all the state information you would need.

The following 8th grade boys will compete at the state meet this weekend: Xavier Warren, Brandon Schramm, Bryan Dixon, and Sam Lucas. Two 7th grade boys qualified and they are Harold Fay and Michael Slingsby.

The following 8th grade girls will also compete at the state meet this weekend: Ciara Fox, Elizabeth Rice, Ali Loiselle, Julia Massino, Ashley Bohne, Elyssa Glenn, and Nikki Doran. The 7th grade girls that qualified were Daniella Pavlovich, Monica Monroe, Nikki Mertel, Carly Gonet, Brooke Veronda, Angela Holmstrom, Shelby Yepsen, and Emily Whitney. The squad will also have the following 6th graders: Lauren Colby, Annie Miller, Kirsten Davis, Paige Griffith, Lydia Warren, and Megan Rehn.  

Congratulations to all the competitors and their accomplishments. We wish everyone the best of luck as they represent our school at the state level.
